Who are we?
We are the creators of Getting Real in Your Kitchen, Linda and Kristina, a mother & daughter team.
As a grandma of 5 and a mom of 4 I know a little something of your struggles to come up with real food recipes for families.
I remember when I decided to turn my own kitchen into a real food kitchen…it was not always easy!
Gone were the boxed cereals, packaged crackers, canned soups, fake cheese, frozen nuggets, toaster pastries, store-bought bread and all of the other processed foods they were so accustomed to.
But we did it! One food at a time, one day at a time, we slowly but surely changed the way we ate. And so can you!!
We will show you how to turn your kids’ favorite foods into nourishing meals they will love.
Sometimes it will be a copycat of the original and sometimes it will be something altogether different, but either way, it will be good!
I am Linda’s daughter and I am just as passionate about helping others eat real food as she is.
But I wasn’t always so excited about it. In fact, I complained when my mom started to replace the processed food in our kitchen with better options.
Yet she didn’t give in. She found ways to make real food kid-friendly. And I started to like it.
I became convinced that real food tastes much better than all the fake food I had once preferred. I loved my mom’s cooking as a kid, and now I still do as an adult!

Taking Care of What God Gave Us
As followers of Jesus Christ, we believe it is important to take care of the bodies we have been given.
“Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body.” ~ 1 Corinthians 6:19-20
And one of the best ways to do that is by eating the food that God himself intended for us to eat.
“Every moving thing that lives shall be food for you. And as I gave you the green plants, I give you everything.” ~ Genesis 9:3
God has provided us with so many tasty and nourishing foods. Think of all the different fruits, vegetables, meats, poultry, and seafood.
It would be a shame not to share all of these choices with your little ones. How unfortunate it would be not to give them a chance to develop a taste and love for them.
We do kids such a disservice by assuming they will only like junk. In fact, they are capable of liking more than unhealthy foods.

Contrast this with the sugars, dyes, preservatives, natural and artificial flavors and unhealthy fats most kids are presently consuming.
Think what all of it is doing to their little growing bodies.
